Maharashtrian Mutton Ukkad is the cuisine of Marathi people from the Indian state of Maharashtra. ukkad means thin curry .. Planning to make nonvegeterian menu for this weekend? Mutton Curry is all non vegeterian people’s favorite dish. Mutton Curry is prepared in different styles in every state. Mostly it is made after a few hours of marination of tender, and juicy meat. So, we can prepare it quickly. All the ingredients are easily available in your pantry.
You need fresh mutton to prepare this curry. This curry is having a runny texture and traditional people relish it with jowar, bajra roti, boiled rice or wheat roti (traditional ghadichi roti with this curry) with raita, salad and papad. Yields1 Serving
 1 kg Mutton
 Salt o taste
 ½ tsp Turmeric powder
 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
 2 tbsp Oil
 1 Cinnamon stick
 5 Cloves
 10 Black pepper
 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
 1 Onion, chopped
 1 tbsp Lemon juice
 1 tbsp Coriander ,chopped

You take 1kg of mutton and wash and then marinate it with turmeric powder and ginger, garlic paste and add salt to taste.

Keep aside for 30 minutes.

For masala in the pan add Cinnamon stick,Cloves ,black pepper,cumin seeds Saute till crackle and then add finely chopped onions to it and cook till light brown.

Add the marinated mutton and mix well,add 4 -5 cups water cover and cook up to 6 whistles or till done.

Open and check the mutton pieces.

So then once it is well cooked, you remove it from the heat and add lemon juice and fresh coriander leaves to it.

This mutton tastes very well with Jowar Bhakari or roti.
