Mutton Pulao Recipe is an excellent pulao recipe made with mutton and rice. Today with this mutton pulao i have made tomaato chutney which goes very well with it.
This is one of my favorite rice recipes.This mutton pulao is almost same like the pulao recipes where spices are used to make rice but, meat added to the rice adds on flavors of the pulav and make it as a very special dish.The taste of the recipe is so delicious that one would make this pulao again and again .
I have used very fresh meat to make mutton pulao as choosing the right meat makes a difference to the pulao..Spices too play a key role as the whole aroma is based on the spices we use. The spices should be freshly bought and they should be very aromatic as that gives wonderful fragrance to the whole mutton pulav.
Whenever I'm not in mood of take the pain of cooking biryani, I just make out this simple Mutton Pulao . It's really an easy dish which does not require extra effort. I try to make pulao recipes of mutton in many ways and this recipe is one among them. For The Mutton Pulao :
 2 cups Jeera Rice , soak for 20 minutes
 4 cups Water
 1 Onion, sliced
 ½ tsp Ginger Garlic paste
 1 tsp Coriander powder
 1 kg Mutton pieces , preferably Chaapte
 2 tbsp Oil
 1 tsp Shahi Jeera / Black Cumin Seeds
 2 Bay leaf
 1 inch Cinnamon
 45 Cloves
 78 Black Pepper
 34 Green Cardamom
 3 Onions, sliced
 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
 78 Green Chillies, made to paste
 Salt to taste
 1 cup Curd
Tomato Chutney
 5 Tomatoes
  Water
 2 Onions, chopped
 2 tbsp Mint leaves , chopped
 2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
 ½ tsp Pepper powder
 Salt to taste
For The Mutton Pulao :

Firstly, in a pressure cooker, add 4 cups of water,add the sliced onions,ginger garlic paste,coriander powder,salt to taste.

Add mutton pieces.Cover the cook and allow to cook till 3 whistles or till the mutton is tender,Open the
cooker and heck the pieces. Reserve the stock.

Take a cooking vessel, add oil and heat it.Add shahi jeera ,bay leaves, cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, cloves, Black pepper and saute them.

Add the sliced onion,Cook till they turn brown then add ginger garlic paste,green chillies paste.Salt to Taste.

Add little water to avoid spices to burn .Cook till the masala is done.Add Mutton pieces and mix well.

Add curd and mix well.Keep stirring and cook for few minutes.

Add soaked Rice(jeera rice that was soaked 20 minutes) and mix gently ,add the stock and allow to boil.

Cover and cook till the rice is done.

For Tomato Chutney

Heat water in a pan,add tomato allow to boil for 5 minutes.

Transfer the tomatoes in cold water.Remove the skin,puree the tomatoes in a bowl.

Then add chopped onion,chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander leaves,pepper powder,Salt to taste.

Mix well and serve with the Mutton Pulao.
