Today i will like to share Railway Mutton Curry Recipe. Railway Mutton Curry was usually prepared by the chefs of the Indian Railways during the British time keeping in mind the delicate palates of the British people. In this Curry mutton is blended with spices and, topped with coriander leaves and served with fresh steam rice. This mutton curry is a dish served on long distance trains. Made with spices and masalas.. This curry has many version of its own i have shown a simple and easy method to make this curry. The marination of mutton is a must to get the flavors in meat of the spices .Then I have made gravy of tomato base which taste yummy this is quick and almost easy recipe you can make at home and serve at your next occasion at home. So lets see the procedure to make this railway style mutton curry at home.
In a mixing bowl take the mutton pieces, add oil, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, lemon juice mix well and keep aside to marinate for 2 hours.
In Cooker heat oil, add green cardamom, black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, and onions cook on a medium flame till onions turn brown.
Add the marinated mutton and mix well.
Now add potatoes, tomato puree, green chilies mix well.
Add coriander, mint leaves again give it a mix cover the cooker and whistle up to 3-4 whistles.
Open the cooker and check the mutton ix it well to absorb water.
Once fats comes up, add almost 2 cups of water, tamarind paste, vinegar mix well and cook on low flame for another 10 minutes or till done.
Once done serve along with jeera rice or chapattis.
